The Miracle Was You

There are warm tears inside for those left far behind
My heart remembers even though my mind forgets
Sometimes a feeling comes when I remember one
And through my hands I feel the miracle again

And I can feel the soft touch of a gentle hand
I see again the smile that said, “We understand”
So many gave to me, I know it’s true
Sweet are the memories of you

Sometimes I think about how much some have put out
To fill my life with loving memories of youth
Sometimes I wonder why, sometimes it makes me cry
To realize there were so many there who cared

Sometimes it takes an extra something to get through
Sometimes it takes one special someone just like you
So many times when it was rough it’s true
Your smile is what helped me get through

Though many years have passed but still the magic last
It shines within me like an ever guiding light
And now I understand just how lucky I am
To have so many there who lent a helping hand

Sometimes there’s one who’s smile can make the difference
And with that magic smile a glance builds confidence
A feeling deep within tells me it’s true
For me the miracle was you
