The King

There was a king who ruled the world alone
He gathered all the gold the world had ever known
He bought the moon and all the stars above
But he lived all alone because the king could not buy love

He searched for years
He offered millions
He was sure that his money would buy him the love of his life
Though millions of women came forward and promised to love him and offered to help
Though pretty their eyes told the king they loved his wealth

Some think that money is what makes a happy home
Some think without it life is worthless as a poem
Some can’t appreciate a poem or love
“Till it’s gone and they’re all alone beneath the stars above

Love’s everything
Love’s seldom easy
Love is what makes all the living and dying of life worth the price
Love is forever and love is for always and love is together through ages of time
The value of true love is not hard to define

Love is worth more than gold if you’re alone
Love is worth more than all the wealth the world has known
Love can’t be bought or sold like poetry
and if you have found love you are as rich as you can be
