The Blues

Nights are so long without you
I really thought you cared
I gave my heart
Right from the start
You swore that you’d be true

You left me sad and lonely
You tore my heart in two
What can I do, I still love you
These blues won’t go away

I cry for you the whole day through
At night time too, what else can I do

I sit alone and miss you
I dream about you too
I miss your arms
I miss your charms
These blues won’t go away

It’s you I miss - you and your kiss
I’ve lost my way what else can I say

Don’t want to live without you
You’ve been away so long
I can’t go on
I’m not that strong
These blues just will not go away
They’re here to stay
These cotton picking blues won’t go away!

I enjoyed this poem very much. Thanks for sharing. I have a weakness for poetry that rhymes and still tells a story, which you've done quite well.
